Vedya met a young man on a plane in 2010. They chatted a little about yoga, and he asked her if she’d heard of the Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth book. He said he didn’t practice yoga but he did learn the 5 Tibetan Rites from the book. She asked him if he still practiced them, and he said no, but that he did feel much better when he was practicing them. That’s a story we hear often about yoga! Vedya read the book (originally published in 1939) and started practicing the 5 Rites in January 2011. She has maintained a steady daily practice of the 5 Rites since then.
Join Vedya to hear the fascinating story behind the practice of the Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth and try the 5 Tibetan Rites for yourself! It is a simple practice of 5 exercises that include breath work and awareness. Though it hasn’t turned her grey hair black, she has enjoyed many rejuvenating benefits and has shared the practice with students around the world over the years. The 5 Rites are a great daily warmup, and for busy people working full time and raising kids - it’s a perfect way to stay fit and flexible when you have little time for exercise. Her husband started doing the 5 Rites in 2013 and he’s still at it! He taught it to his burned out colleagues in Germany and several of them are still keeping up this quick daily practice.
This workshop will be offered in person (with proper distancing) and online.
Please bring any props you need to support your practice, as well as a pen and paper for journaling.
