About the Event
We often see or hear a version of the Metta prayer where we wish for loving kindness, freedom from suffering, joy, peace and freedom for every living being. While these are lovely hopes and wishes for ourselves and others, the question still remains,
How do we achieve these blissful states of being, let alone help others achieve them? The answer is in the foundation of our spiritual practice, which is often glossed over in pursuit of perceived sexier spiritual goals. But nothing is attained or supported long-term without a strong base, including and especially a loving, peaceful state of mind, and a life free from suffering.
In this 1.5-hour session we will explore the causes of a happy life from the Gelugpa Buddhist perspective, and practical tools to keep us accountable and on track to create the life we want to live in the world we want to live in.
Join us for a Buddhist meditation and dharma discussion, presented by Kim Humphrey, at Shuniya Yoga Collective or online from the comfort of your home.
Please bring any props you need to support you (i.e. water, blanket, bolster and/or pillow, journal and pen).
